STADIUM UPGRADE FAQ'S
When will the Marvel Stadium Upgrade be completed?
The project is expected to be completed in 2023/2024. Importantly, the stadium will remain operational throughout the term of the project.
What hours will construction work take place?
Construction work will be undertaken only between council permitted working hours which are Monday – Friday 7:00am – 7:00pm and Saturday 8:00am – 3:00pm. Saturday site works are subject to no events being held at the stadium.
The AFL, Victorian Government and John Holland are committed to minimising the impact to spectators, the general public and adjoining buildings in the Docklands Business Precinct. Management plans are in place to ensure disruption is limited.
How loud will the construction works be?
Piling works may cause noise and vibrations to nearby buildings within the precinct and while demolition takes place. Wherever possible this noise will be limited and only undertaken within the hours allowed for construction.
Will access to the concourse around the stadium be impacted?
Concourse access around the external areas of the stadium will remain available throughout construction. Wayfinding signage will direct you safely around the venue.
Can I still attend events at Marvel Stadium during construction?
Yes! Marvel Stadium will remain operational during construction. For information and ticketing details for upcoming events visit:

Will emergency muster points for fire evacuations of adjoining buildings be impacted?
Some emergency muster points will need to be updated. These changes are being managed in partnership with adjoining buildings in the Docklands Business Precinct.
Which gates will be effected?
Gates 1, 3 and 5 will be open on event days however they will be closed while the site is in construction mode. Should you need to access the stadium on a non-event day, signage will direct you to a nearby alternative gate.
Is the carpark still open?
The car park remains open but is limited due to the temporary loss of bays. To secure your space, please pre-book here:
